Introduction 

SSC The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam is one of the most prestigious and competitive recruitment examinations in India. It opens doors to various government jobs in ministries, departments, and organizations under the Government of India. Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear for SSC exams to secure stable, respected, and well-paying careers in the public sector.



📋 What is SSC?

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a government organization that conducts recruitment for Group B and Group C posts in various central government departments. It functions under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.


🧭 Major SSC Exams

Here are the most prominent SSC exams conducted every year:

1. SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL)

  • Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline

  • Posts: Assistant Section Officer (ASO), Income Tax Inspector, Auditor, etc.

  • Tiers: 4 (Tier I and II are online)

2. SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL)

  • Eligibility: 12th Pass

  • Posts: Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Postal Assistant

  • Tiers: 3

3. SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

  • Eligibility: 10th Pass

  • Posts: Peon, Watchman, Gardener, etc.

4. SSC CPO (Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs)

  • Eligibility: Graduation

  • Special: Physical and medical tests are mandatory

5. SSC JE (Junior Engineer)

  • Eligibility: Engineering diploma/degree

  • Branches: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical

6. SSC GD Constable

  • Eligibility: 10th Pass

  • Posts: Constables in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, etc.

7. SSC Stenographer Grade C & D

  • Eligibility: 12th Pass + Steno skill test


📚 SSC Exam Pattern (General Overview)

While the pattern varies with the exam, most SSC exams include the following sections:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning

  • General Awareness

  • Quantitative Aptitude

  • English Comprehension

Mode of exam: Online (Computer-Based Test)


🎯 Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian

  • Age Limit: Varies from 18 to 32 years depending on the post (with age relaxations)
